Reliable Airflow for High-Altitude Industrial Operation

SIMO BLOWER supplied a series of centrifugal fans for an oxygen purification project of Yunnan Honghe New Materials Co., Ltd., supporting the air and gas handling requirements of the industrial process.

The project is located at an altitude of approximately 1,800 meters, creating additional requirements for fan selection and operating performance.

For this application, SIMO supplied 12 centrifugal fans, including A1, A2 and A3 fan units.

Project Requirements

The fans were designed for stable operation under the project's specific site conditions:

  • Altitude: Approx. 1,800 m
  • Operating temperature: 25°C
  • Airflow: 7,376–13,458 m³/h
  • Pressure: 11,596–17,398 Pa
  • Drive: Variable-frequency motor
  • Bearing: SKF / FAG options
  • Quantity: 12 units

The relatively high operating pressure and high-altitude installation required the fan selection to be based on the actual site conditions, rather than standard sea-level operating parameters.


Fan Solution

SIMO supplied two main centrifugal fan specifications for the project:

9-19-7.1D

  • Airflow: 7,376 m³/h
  • Pressure: 11,596 Pa
  • Temperature: 25°C

9-19-9D

  • Airflow: 13,458 m³/h
  • Pressure: 17,398 Pa
  • Temperature: 25°C

Different fan units were configured according to their respective process requirements, while variable-frequency drives provide flexibility for operating adjustment.

The fan systems were also supplied with shock absorbers and selected bearing configurations to support stable mechanical operation.


Designed for High-Altitude Conditions

Fan performance is affected by installation altitude because air density changes with atmospheric pressure.

For projects installed at approximately 1,800 m above sea level, fan selection should therefore consider the actual site conditions and operating requirements.

SIMO evaluates the fan's airflow, pressure, gas conditions, operating altitude and drive requirements together before finalizing the equipment configuration.

This approach helps avoid selecting a fan solely according to standard reference conditions.


Manufacturing & Quality Control

Component manufacturing → Impeller assembly → Dynamic balancing → Mechanical inspection → Performance verification → Final inspection

The rotating components are dynamically balanced before shipment to help control vibration during operation.

For this project, the equipment was also supplied with required technical documentation, inspection records and supporting materials for installation, operation and maintenance.
